The Antioch University Santa Barbara (AUSB) campus is located in downtown Santa Barbara, California within walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and galleries. The AUSB campus is also close to Santa Barbara’s beautiful beaches and mountain ranges. Antioch Santa Barbara serves local residents as well as an increasing number of commuters from San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties who appreciate Antioch’s flexible class schedules. Antioch students have relocated from throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, South America, and Europe to Santa Barbara specifically to attend Antioch University, drawn by Antioch’s distinctive education and the community’s justly famous climate, lifestyle and amenities.
Students of Antioch University Santa Barbara are working adults who seek a new direction in their careers or the mobility provided by earning an undergraduate or graduate degree. A diverse group of men and women ranging in age from 23 to 70, they share a serious determination to change their lives. The average student is 35 years old, and over 70% receive some form of financial aid.
In association with Innovative Learning, AUSB has recently added Certificate in Direct Support Studies to the available online certificate programs. This certificate program consists of 28 topic areas, equivalent to more than 100 training hours, which have been reviewed and scrutinized by top national and international providers and experts in the human services and disabilities sector. The content is competency tested and learner outcomes are sustainable and optimal as all courses are developed according to a specific and researched learning model.
The Certificate in Autism Studies offered by AUSB provides specialized training for people who work with individuals diagnosed as having Autism Spectrum Disorder. The program consists of 18 online courses which are taken in sequential order and each participant has 6 months to complete the program once they have enrolled.
AUSB offers many other degree programs for students able to attend live class sessions. Some of these programs offer degrees such as Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Master of Arts in Education, Teacher Credentialing, Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, PsyD in Clinical Psychology, Master of Arts in Organizational Management, and Doctor of Business Administration. Depending on the degree program chosen, students may be able to attend school and work fulltime, coming to class in the evenings, one day a week, or on weekends.
