Brewton Parker College Distance Learning

Brewton Parker College is located on David-Eliza Fountain Circle in Mount Vernon, Georgia; this Union Baptist college was founded in the year 1905. At conception Brewton Parker College was a mere 4 building campus hosting 160 students grades 1 to 11; student enrollment doubled by the first year’s end. In 1918, this private institution became Brewton-Parker College formally known as Brewton-Parker Institute. Today, the campus of the college is set on 280 of rural acreage; there are 46 buildings on campus, a 5 acre lake, and outdoor athletic facilities for students as well. Brewton Parker College does not currently offer online or distance learning programs for students but there are an assortment of educational opportunities to enroll in as well as many events and sports for students to partake in.

The main campus of Brewton Parker College is located in Mount Vernon, Georgia; there is also another secondary campus built in Newnan, Georgia. Brewton Parker College is a liberal arts institution that provides 4 different types of bachelor degrees to students to choose from.  Today, the total enrollment at Brewton Parker College is approximately 1,119 students. There are 189 employed academic staff members at Brewton Parker College; the student to faculty ratio is nine to one.  Brewton Parker College categorizes the educational opportunities it provides to students into division as follows; the Business, Education, Arts & Letters, Science, Religion & Philosophy and Social & Behavioral Sciences divisions.

Brewton Parker College offers many different areas of study for students to select from through the divisions on campus. The Business division offers classes such as Accounting, Management, Computer Information Systems, and General Business. The Education division offers classes such as Early Childhood Education, Middle Grades Education, Sport and Fitness Studies as well. The Arts & Letters division offers classes such as English and Communication, while the Science division offers classes in Biology. The Religion & Philosophy division teaches Christian Studies and Ministry also. Lastly, the Social & Behavioral Sciences division has classes in History, Psychology, Sociology, and Human Services as well.

Apart from lecturers, studying and assignments; there are many happenings on campus for students to contribute in during the academic year at Brewton Parker College. Aside from enjoying the serene countryside, there are also several opportunities such as athletics on university grounds along with student clubs and organizations also.  Some of the intramural and fun sports available at the Brewton Parker College are table tennis, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, football, softball and volleyball as well. There are several student groups at Brewton Parker College also; some of them are drama, theatre, a choral group, Student Government Association, Baptist Campus Ministry, Student Activities Council and many more.

Even though there is no online or distance learning program available for students at this college; there are advantages Brewton Parker College has to offer pupils. The pleasant atmosphere increases the probability for academic achievement and there is an abundance of options available throughout the week to keep even the most active residents content.
