The California National University for Advanced Studies is solely a distance learning educational institution with many degree options. Its mission from the beginning is to provide the highest quality of education and study while offering flexibility to those who need it in order to feasibly pursue higher learning. The University emphasizes student contact with its nationally recognized staff of teachers, so that distance learning technologies enhance the quality of the teacher student relationship, rather than replace it. The programs are offered to United States residents and overseas students, and the school has accreditation through the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council in Washington, D.C. The School has a few divisions: The College of Engineering, the College of Quality and Engineering Management, and the College of Business Administration. California National University for Advanced Studies also has a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Program, and a Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate Program. These are designed for working professionals as executive training certificates providing tools for personal and professional development for those already established in their fields. The programs are six weeks in length, and computer based. The pre-requisite for the Green Belt program is one year of experience in Quality Improvements or with Six Sigma projects. The skills taught are part of the DMAIC model, otherwise known as Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control.) These skills develop students capabilities to manage and lead projects more efficiently and effectively. It includes scholarly learning with hands on experience to create a unique and informative program. The Black Belt Certificate Program has the same pre-requisites as the Green Belt, and also requires completion of that program in order to enroll. The program builds on the DMAIC methods, and further explores all aspects of business operation including Critical to Quality (CTQ). Further key points of the program are effectively managing customers and suppliers, furthering statistical interpretation and analysis, communication skills relevant to statistical data, and implementing modern tracking tools to assure quality control and improvement.
The University attempts to keep tuition and fees affordable for their student body. United States and Canadian residents pay $270 per unit for the Bachelor’s Degrees, and $300.00 per unit for their Master’s. International students with the exception of Canadians pay $300.00 per Bachelor credit hour, and $350.00 per Master’s unit. The Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Program costs $1285.00 and the Black Belt Certificate Program is $1985.00. There are also other fees such as application, registration, and graduation fees, which are all reasonably priced. California National University participates in a tuition reimbursement program with many corporations, so check with your employers to see if you qualify. They also participate in tuition assistance for Veteran’s and active duty military citizens. In addition, there are two payment plan options that allow students to pay low monthly payments, making it a very viable option for furthering your education.
