Central Bible College Distance Learning

In response to the need to train ministers and missionaries after the General Council of the Assemblies of God was founded, Central Bible College was established in 1922. Located in the growing metropolitan area of Springfield, Missouri, the college enforces the mission of discovering, developing, equipping and sending Spirit-filled, servant leaders into the world who will impact it for Christ.
Central Bible College (CBC), due to decades of academic excellence, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association for Biblical Higher Education as well as the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Found at the core of this institution are seven values: integrity, servant-hood, stewardship, vision, excellence, teamwork and learning. It is from these values that CBC pulls its curriculum. Academics are vital to the experience found at CBC. Every class prepares students to succeed not only in ministry but in life.
Fields of study are divided into five groups known as divisions. These divisions are as follows: Division of Biblical Education, Division of Church Ministries, Division of Missions and Evangelism, Division of Fine Arts and Communication and the Division of Arts and Sciences. All the majors offered under these divisions prepare students for various ministries within the church. Graduation from CBC is dependent on more than a student’s grades and the completion of credit hours. Character, doctrinal soundness, active interest and zeal for Christian service, minimum of 30 hours residency as well as approval by the faculty are all graduation requirements.
The environment students are immersed into at CBC is designed to cultivate the heart of a spiritual leader. The community surrounding each student nourishes life-giving relationships and is intentionally designed to sharpen life and leadership skills. The college believes that when a person is much with God, they can do much for God. It is for this reason CBC offers students the opportunity for daily exposure to God’s presence and the influence of remarkable leaders in chapel. But the gratifying experience found at CBC doesn’t stop there.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in sports while attending CBC. These student-athletes are tested, challenged and encouraged to develop a strong work ethic and passion for service in the kingdom of God. The college offers in addition to intercollegiate basketball, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading, a few intramural sports including basketball, softball and volleyball. These athletics provide an significant opportunity for students to develop character and strengthen their commitment to serving God.
As if this college coulnd’t get any better, CBC offers students distance learning opportunites. These opportunites allow students to go about their busy lives anywhere around the world and log into courses whenever it is convenient for them. This is ideal for the student that wants to further their education but has obligations preventing them from doing such. Students attending CBC will receive more than just an education rich in academic excellence. These individuals will be well prepared to live a Spirit-led life and fulfill their role in the family of God.
