Florida Community College at Jacksonville
College Fair Transfer Services Transcript
Florida Gulf Coast University Greetings! My name is Hansley Mussotte and I am a coordinator for Undergraduate Relations at Florida Gulf Coast University.
If you're looking to transfer to our school from FCCJ, one of the first things we consider is the amount of transferable credit hours you have. Students with 60 or more credit hours are only required to have at least a 2.0 GPA for all college-level courses attempted and must be in good standing with FCCJ. Students who have less than 60 transferable credit hours must meet the first-time-in-college entry requirements, which include an evaluation of your high school transcripts as well as your SAT or ACT test scores.
Once you become a student at our school, you will have the opportunity to take full advantage of the many wonderful things offered at Florida Gulf Coast University. FGCU is a public university located in beautiful Fort Myers, Florida. In just 10 years, FGCU has become nationally recognized for academic excellence through our innovative educational programs. Our College of Arts and Science, College of Business, College of Education, College of Health Professions, and College of Professional Studies offers 44 undergraduate programs as well as 22 graduate programs. To highlight a few, we offer degrees in Computer Science, Marine Science, Environmental Studies, Psychology, Engineering, Elementary Education, Athletic training, Nursing, Criminal Studies, Resort and Hospitality Management... trust me, I can on and on but for time sake, I would rather refer you to our website for a COMPLETE listing: www.fgcu.edu
Aside from our academic offerings, we also provide a variety of services to our students. There are over 100 clubs and organizations on our campus, ranging from religious groups, to common interest, athletic clubs, academic clubs, as well as Greek life. There's something for everyone. We also give you the liberty of starting your own club!
If you're a student athlete, FGCU offers 14 Division I athletic programs that include basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, and cross country.
We also have great housing options. We offer our students apartment style and suite-style housing right on our campus. The rooms are fully furnished and all utilities are included as part of your housing fee.
Lastly, we provide students with financial aid. As a state school, we accept the bright futures scholarship, as well as the Florida pre-paid. In addition, we provide numerous scholarships that are particular to our students. We offer need based scholarships, merit based scholarships, and other qualification scholarships such as auditions.
It's been a pleasure to share some information with you. Please feel free to contact me for more details, or for more specifics on anything I've already mentioned. Also, our website is a very helpful tool that can easily be navigated. www.fgcu.edu Go Eagles!
