Hello. I am Louis Caplan, the assistant dean for interdisciplinary studies at Fort Hays State University. I would like to tell you about some of the online degrees we offer. Fort Hays State University is located is western Kansas half way between Kansas City, Missouri and Denver, Colorado. FHSU is one of the six regents universities in Kansas and is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Our enrollment is just under 10,000 – approximately half study on campus and half study online through the Virtual College. Our online students can be found in almost every state of the union, in China and Europe, with our troops in the Middle East, as well as on ships at sea. We have been offering online degrees for more than 20 years.

FCCJ and FHSU have a transfer and articulation agreement which allows you to move seamlessly into one of ten undergraduate online degree programs at FHSU. You can earn a degree completely online in computer networking and telecommunications, web development, justice studies, organizational leadership, technology leadership, management, or sociology. An RN to BSN program is also available online.

If you prefer a degree with more flexibility and versatility, we may wish to consider a bachelor of general studies degree. The BGS degree allows for more elective courses than typically available with a more traditional major. In this program you select a 21 hour area of concentration in lieu of a major, leaving you more room to customize your program of study to meet your personal and professional goals.

To further enhance your credentials, you can also choose from more than a dozen certificate programs such as E-commerce, Cisco networking, geographic information systems, grant writing and human resource management.

Online graduate degrees are also available through the Virtual College. You can choose a Master of Liberal Studies, an MBA or a Master of Science in health and human performance, instructional technology, education, educational administration, special education, nursing administration, and nursing education.
