Florida Community College at Jacksonville
College Fair Transfer Services Transcript
Florida State University Hi. My name is Linda Mahler, and I am Director of Transfer Student Services at Florida
State University.
FSU is proud of the more than 300 degree programs available to our 40,000
undergraduate and graduate students. We are recognized for excellence in many areas,
but are perhaps most noted for our programs in the fine and performing arts and the hard
sciences. Our College of Business is nationally ranked in several of its disciplines and our
Meteorology Department is one of the top climate research facilities in the country.
Likewise, the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory draws the finest researchers in a
variety of scientific disciplines from around the world. We have international study
programs in England, Italy, Spain, Russia, China, Costa Rica, Greece, and other
countries. Students come to FSU to prepare themselves for careers in areas as diverse as
education, medicine, business, engineering, law, research and creative expression. Come
to FSU and find your academic home.
College life is more than academics and FSU has many opportunities to become involved
on campus and in the community through more than 500 clubs, organization and service
programs. You can even join the Flying High Circus and learn how perform on the
flying trapeze. We have an excellent intramural and recreational program, and our
Student Recreation Center is one of the finest in the country. There are cultural and
entertainment programs scheduled almost every night of the week that frequently feature
performances by world-renown artists and performers.
At FSU we welcome AA degree transfer students from Florida Community College.
Recently, we have moved to something called "academic mapping" and some of our
majors are "limited access," so be sure to check to see what the requirements are to enter
your major of choice.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the number included on the Virtual
Transfer College Fair website. I look forward to personally welcoming you to Florida
State University. It is truly a great place to be. Click here to download this transcript.
