Elmhurst College was founded in 1871 as a private, four-year college associated with the United Church of Christ. The curriculum is comprised of liberal arts and pre-professional training to ready students for continuous learning, volunteerism, and accomplishment. The school is located in Elmhurst, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. According to the 2006 Special Census, the population of Elmhurst was 43,298. Elmhurst College offers more than 50 majors and nine graduate programs. The student-to-faculty ratio is a low 13:1, the average class size is 18 students, and the largest class is ever only 35 students. The Master’s in Computer Information Systems is available completely as a distance learning degree.
