Franklin Pierce University, founded in 1962, is a private school located in Rindge, New Hampshire. Rindge is a very rural area, with a population of five-thousand inhabitants. It is surrounded by rivers and lakes, and its points of interest are mostly comprised of natural landscapes. Some notable places to visit include the Annett Wayside Park, Cathedral of the Pines, and the Rindge Meeting House. Nathan Hale is one of the more famous former residents, and the entire town has a historical feeling to it. Franklin Pierce University is the sole University in the area, and it is primarily a liberal arts school with a focus on professional preparation for positions of leadership for the graduates.
The actual campus, located on Mount Monadnock with a view of Pearly Pond, has an intriguing history. The land where the school has been built was first owned by a sea captain, and rumor has it it was a stop on the underground railroad. It was also owned by wealthy people in the horse business, the Boy Scouts of America, and the famous silent film actress Alma Monaco. The campus has grown to over one-thousand acres. Franklin Pierce is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It has recently begun to establish rankings on Forbes’ “List of America’s Top Colleges.” The University in Rindge is an undergraduate facility, however there are graduate programs in other New Hampshire locations including Lebanon, Manchester, Concord, and Portsmouth, as well as one other satellite campus in Goodyear, Arizona.
Many undergraduate and graduate courses can be taken online through distance learning. Students seeking as Associate’s Degree online can pursue the following concentrations: Criminal Justice, General Studies, Human Services, Management and Marketing. Franklin Pierce University offers two Bachelor of Arts Degrees online, one in Criminal Justice, and the other in Human Services. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in General Studies, Management, and Marketing. They also have one Undergraduate Certificate Program, in Paralegal Studies. All of these programs are accredited. Graduate Degree seeking students can obtain four different Master of Business Administration options including Leadership, Health Administration, Human Resource Management, and Sports Management. The school also has a Master of Education and Teacher Certification program online, as well as a Master of Science in Information Technology Management. A Graduate Certificate an be obtained in Emerging Network Technology.
The main campus at Rindge has over twenty four majors and twenty-nine minors for undergraduate students to choose from. There are five academic divisions at Franklin Pierce, Behavioral Sciences, Humanities, Visual and Performing Arts, Business Administration, and the Natural Sciences. They also have many pre-professional and certificate programs including Global Citizenship, Sustainability, Women in Leadership, Pre-Health and Pre-Law. Popular majors include Psychology, Education, Social Work and Counseling, Marketing, Management, Biology, and Fine Arts.
The estimated tuition and fee cost for one year of attendance is $28,800. Room and board is an additional $10,100. The school accommodates special payment plans such as credit cards, installment plans, deferred payment, and external finance companies. Students also have access to loans, grants, and scholarships, and every student at the University receives some type of aid.
