Haskell Indian Nations University Distance Learning

Haskell Indian Nations University is located on 155 Indian Ave in Lawrence, Kansas; Haskell Indian Nations University offers associate and bachelor degrees and was founded in the year 1884 for students that represent federally recognized tribes from across the United States.  For more than 117 years now, many American Indians and Alaska Natives have been sending their children to Haskell; much of the curriculum also is focused on their culture and history. Haskell Indian Nations University does not offer online or distance learning programs at this time to students but there are many different substantial academic opportunities to enroll in as well as many events and sports for students to partake in.

Today, the total enrollment at Haskell Indian Nations University averages around 1000 students each year; these students descend from over 50 different tribes.  Haskell Indian Nations University currently offers degrees in the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Bachelor of Arts (BA), and the Bachelor of Science (BS) to students. Haskell Indian Nations University offers these degrees through the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education on campus. Haskell Indian Nations University offers bachelor degrees in environmental science and American Indian studies; they offer associate degrees in elementary teacher education and business administration to name a few. There are currently many other majors offered by Haskell Indian Nations University for students to choose from; these are just some of the options available to students there are still many more.

Apart from spending time in the library and classes, there are still many activities and events on and around campus for students to get involved in during the school year at Haskell Indian Nations University. Some of the most popular student activities to participate in are student government sponsored visits to the Worlds of Fun in Kansas City or perhaps maybe a Major League Baseball game. The group also provides comedians, concerts, dances, excursions, and film nights as well. There are several student groups at Haskell Indian Nations University also and many more activities as well as sports for students to get involved in. For men, Haskell Indian Nations University has basketball, cross country, football, and golf to compete in. For women, Haskell Indian Nations University provides basketball, cross country, softball, and volleyball. On the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University students can find Haskell Memorial Stadium, Coffin Complex, Lady Indian Softball Field, and Fightin’ Indian Track to practice on throughout the semester

At this time there are no online or distance learning programs available at this time for students at this college, however there are very significant advantages Haskell Indian Nations University has to offer qualified students on campus. The accredited education and close knit peer group enhances the opportunities for educational success for the student’s future and there are many options available throughout the year to keep even the most energetic people pleased.
