Hastings College Distance Learning

Hastings College is located on 710 North Turner in Hastings, Nebraska; this private, undergraduate, four-year, residential liberal arts college was founded by a group of men and women in the year 1882 . Today, the campus of the college is set on 109 acres; there are 40 major buildings on campus, including the Osborne Family Sports Complex / Fleharty Educational Center as well. At this time Hastings College does not currently offer online or distance learning programs to students but there are several college majors to enroll in as well as many events and sports for students to enroll in.

Today, the total enrollment at Hastings College is approximately 1,154 undergraduate students. There are high quality employed academic staff members at Hastings College; around eighty-six percent of tenure-track faculty have doctorates or the highest degrees in their respected field, the student to faculty ratio right now is twelve to one.  Many of the students at Hastings Colleges are living on campus. Hastings College currently offers 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs; students have two options for completing their course of study, the Liberal Arts Program and the Personalized Program.

The personalized program is designed for students who want to tailor their own unique course of study. Hastings College currently offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. Some of the available majors to students offered at Hastings Colleges are Chemistry, Communication Studies, Computer Science, Construction Management, Criminal Justice, Economics, Computer Science, Education, English, Exercise Science and German to name a few. These are just some of the options available to students there are still many more.

Aside from the academic obligations; there are many activities on and around campus for students to get involved in during the school year at Hastings College. Hastings, Nebraska is just two and a half hours west of Omaha, around six hours east of Denver and only five hours northwest of Kansas City if students are up for the occasional short road trip. In the immediate area there are an estimated 25,000 students, aside from the student body, there are many sites to see in the great of Hastings; some sites are the unique downtown shops, beautiful parks and historic housing districts. There are several student groups at Hastings Colleges also and many more activities as well as sports for students to get involved in. There are more than 75 student organizations devoted to student government, honorary societies, peer education, religion, and special interests to name a few.

At this time there are no online or distance learning programs currently for students at this college, however there are advantages Hastings Colleges has to offer students on campus. The strong community feeling and close attention here heightens the chances for academic and meeting new friends for the future and there are many options available throughout the year to keep even the most active residents satisfied.
