Montclair State University is a research university of public status and is located in Montclair, New Jersey. Montclair State offers all of the advantages that a large university can offer combined with the small class size and individualized education of a small college. There more than 300 different courses of study that students can choose from in order to reach their degree or desired occupation. With this in mind, Montclair is an excellent resource for the students of New Jersey and beyond the state into the country and into the world.

Montclair State hosts a select variety of online courses for distance learners to take for whatever reason. Credits earned online can be applied towards a degree later earned on campus or even transferred to another college or university for further study. Students can choose from the fields of Anthropology, Classical Studies, Humanities, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Teaching, Art & Design, Modern Languages & Literatures, History, Health & Nutrition, and other concentrations not listed here. Some course titles include, but are not limited to Health Disparities & Social Justice, History of the United States until 1876, Intermediate Hebrew, Integrating Technology Across Curricula, Greek Civilization, and Anthropology of Globalization.

Courses can be taken for independent study, asynchronous study, or can be put toward some of Montclair’s online degree programs. One of the online programs that Montclair offers is the Master of Arts in Health Education. This program is designed to prepare professionals for health education careers or some related occupations in the health professions. This can be used to apply towards Kindergarten through 12th grade education or can be applied as expertise in the realm of healthcare.

Since Montclair State University is state-supported, tuition rates vary by status of residency. Resident/Non-resident undergraduates should expect to pay $6,390/$13,659 per year when enrolling full-time and $213/$455 per credit hour when enrolling part-time. Resident/Non-resident graduates should expect to pay $8,590/$13,259 per year when enrolling full-time and $477/$737 when enrolling part-time.
