Newberry College Distance Learning

Newberry College is a college of the liberal arts that is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is situated in Newberry, South Carolina. Newberry College’s goal is to bring out the best in students by supplying a curriculum that is both varied and diverse. Topics of choice at Newberry include some areas like Nursing, Chemistry, or even Biology. Newberry College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has more than mere results to show for it. U.S. News & World Report included Newberry in “Best Colleges” as a regional southern college.

Newberry College currently does not host a distance education sector or any online classes, degrees, or certificates just yet. Many Christian colleges have successfully launched, administered and maintained distance education programs particularly over the net. As is the trend for most colleges and universities, Newberry is likely to follow suit by offering online classes in the near future. This selection of online materials will surely then develop into an online program of some sort.

Most Christian higher education institutions have a strong focus in business majors and general business subsidiary topics. Newberry College is no exception when the most concentrated and popularly pursued topic of study is Business Administration & Management. There has also been interest within this general field to pursue specific vocations. Communications, Journalism, and related programs have received a lot of attention from Newberry’s aspiring students and is an equally valid path towards launching into the corporate landscape with credentials.

There are other Administration programs for those that aren’t majoring in business. Sport & Fitness Administration/Management is the second most popular study at the college and has provided students with virtually the same leadership skills that business programs have to offer. Some other popular majors are Marketing, Education, Social Sciences, Biology, Visual & Performing Arts, and Psychology.

Since Newberry College is a baccalaureate institution, one need not be concerned with graduate level tuition rates. Undergraduate students will pay $20,500 per year when enrolling full-time and $500 per credit hour when enrolling part-time. Students often fear the process of financing an education that ranges $20,000+/year, however, there is a plentiful array of financial aid to take advantage of.

Federal grants, for instance, supply approximately 1 out of 3 students in any given year will Pell Grants and other federal aid. State and local resources combine to put money into the pockets of roughly 3 out of 4 students in any given term or semester. Newberry College gives each of its students an institutional grant of some sort, or a scholarship, or even need-based grants to help curtail the cost of education for less-fortunate students.

Distance learners may not yet have the opportunity to participate in Newberry College academics, but opportunities will arise soon enough.
