North Carolina State University Distance Learning

North Carolina State University is a university of public status that is a part of the University of North Carolina system and is based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Students can obtain certificates at any educational level, a teaching license, an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree, or a doctoral degree, all 100% online. Online classes taught at North Carolina State University are backed by the university’s accreditation and state-supported resources, especially quality staff that are the same that of on campus.

To start with, students can earn Certificates in Computer Programming, Fabric Manufacturing, Police Administration, Textile Fundamentals, Food Safety, Agronomic Crop Production, Animal Nutrition, and many more topics not covered here. Any certificates or credentials earned online can be pursued at a standard pace or can be arranged for accelerated study allowing students to obtain their credential sooner.

At the undergraduate level there are the choices of the Bachelor of Arts in Leadership in the Public Sector, the Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechatronics, and some minors, such as Agricultural Business Management. Graduate students can obtain a Master of Agricultural Education, a Master of Animal Science, a Master of Biological & Agricultural Engineering, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Civil Engineering and many more choices at the master’s level. There is also the Doctor of Education in Adult & Community College Education or the Doctor of Education in School Administration.

Since North Carolina State University is public in nature, tuition rates depend upon the student’s status of residency. Resident/Non-resident students will pay $3,860/$16,158 per year when enrolling full-time and $143/$273 per credit hour when enrolling on a part-time basis. Graduate resident/non-resident students should expect to pay $4,268/$16,316 per year when taking class full-time and $227/$436 per credit hour when enrolling on a part-time schedule.

Federal grants are dispersed to approximately 1 out of 6 students each year and state/local sources supply something closer to 1 out of 4 students with grants and awards for tuition purposes. Institutional grants directly from North Carolina State University, like scholarships, are given to 2 out of 5 students based on a number of factors, usually prior academic performance.
