Founded in 1977, San Joaquin Valley College has eight campuses in California along with an online campus for distance learning students. As a private junior college, SJVC has given more than 20,000 graduates career-focused training with more than 20 accelerated programs. In today’s competitive job market, focused skill training along with classroom instruction will give students a leading edge when seeking employment.
SJVC has earned top regional accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This accreditation gives students the confidence in their education and assurance that the standards of the school are nothing but high. Distance learning students will be well prepared for job placement upon graduation.
Professionals need not put off furthering their education simply because of the inability to take seated classes in a traditional classroom setting. Distance learning courses in the business and medical field given online from SJVC offer a flexible and convenient option to students. All of the programs provide the fundamental skills students need to embark on a successful career.
The clinical medical assisting distance learning program offered at SJVC will open the door to job positions like a clinical research assistant, medical assistant, medical secretary, occupational health assistant, and lab assistant. It can also serve as a foundation for further education and can lead to positions like a licensed practical nurse, emergency services technician, physical therapist, and more. Upon graduation, students earn a Certificate of Completion and are then eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam and the National Medical Assistant exam. They will also earn CPR and First Aid Certification along with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Certification.
There are several distance learning programs in the business field at SJVC. The Business Administration program will give students the core skills they need to succeed in a variety of business careers. They will learn about human resources, accounting, management, business ethics and operations, and finance. These skills prepare students for job positions like an executive assistant, accounts payable clerk, collections officer, payroll clerk, or account manager.
SJVC also has a Human Resource Administrator distance learning program. The course focuses on developing human relations skills, computer training, and computer program proficiency. Graduates of this course will be prepared to assume roles as a human resource specialist or generalist, compensation or benefit analyst, a training and development coordinator, or a payroll clerk.
Other programs available are in Construction Management and Administrative Health Care Management. Additionally, SJVC offers an Associate of Science Degree Completion distance learning program that will give those who earn it the competitive edge they need when it comes to finding job placement. Students will be taught skills in subjects like computer concepts, psychology, public relations, management, and more. Admissions advisors are available to help students who qualify secure funding for their education in the form of federal financial aid, grants, loans, and scholarships.
