Spotlight on The University of Florida

Every year, distance learning grows and grows, adding tens of thousands of new students to its ranks. Many established universities are evolving with the times, and developing distance learning programs to go hand-in-hand with their established courses. The University of Florida is a great example of a top-tier school that is slightly ahead of the curve, in creating a professional, easy to navigate on-line degree program that can allow students anywhere to get their Bachelors, Masters, or even Doctorate from the prestigious southern school.

The University of Florida was established in 1906. It is home to sixteen different colleges and over fifty thousand students. It is regularly ranked amongst the top schools in the country – it rated number seventeen in U.S. News & World Report “Top Public Universities” (August 2012); UF placed number two in Kiplinger’s “Best Values in Public Colleges” (2012), and it ranked number seven in the Princeton Review “Best Value Public Colleges” (2012). Also, Smartmoney magazine ranked it number two for “schools with the best return on tuition dollars.”

In short, UF is a school with pedigree. And now you don’t have to live in Gainesville, Florida to attend.

Offering one of the most diverse selection of on-line classes and degrees, UF has hit the ground running with its distance learning program. It offers ten different paths to a Bachelor’s degree, through six different schools:

It also has a diverse selection of Doctoral programs; ten different Doctorate degrees offered through five different colleges

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice

The around of Masters degrees offered through the University of Florida is so wide-ranging and covers so many different branches of study, that it will require its own follow-up blog (coming soon). But as you can see, UF has jumped into distance learning with both feet, and seems committed to pushing it in as many different disciplines as possible.
