Virginia College is a for-profit college with campuses in 11 states, along with a comprehensive online program. Virginia College is accredited, and the College’s online programs are approved or registered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The online programs are also available in other states where no formal approval is required. Virginia College online offers degrees in many programs including accounting, business administration, human resources, information technology (IT), paralegal studies, criminal justice, health care and more. Specialty online programs include culinary and pastry arts and golf course management. Both specialty courses require that applicants have an associate degree in a similar program comparable to the ones offered by Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, or the Golf Academy of America.

The variety of programs and the ability to earn any degree from associate to bachelor to master—even certificates, allows students at any stage in their learning experience to advance to the next level. The flexibility of an online program enables students to attain a degree without having to take time off work. Virginia College welcomes members of the military. As a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges consortium (SOC), Virginia College awards credit for military training and DANTES exams. To make multiple deployments easier, Virginia College allows transfer of up to 75% of the credits needed for a degree. All students benefit from Virginia College’s acceptance of CLEP and Advanced Placement exam results.

    Distance learning is an emerging topic nowadays. It helps an individual to study on their own and earn a degree for themselves. These on-line schools have different courses based on the different streams of learning with emerging technologies.
